Have you heard of this? I have seen it make it’s way through some articles. I personally love it and use it on days my brain really feels a jumbled mess.
A brain dump is when you take a piece of paper and write unfiltered. You could use a computer if you prefer that. I like the tactical aspect that a pen and paper give this exercise. You write down your mental to do list, what you need at the grocery store, your thoughts and anxieties. Whatever the brain wants to dump out!
Then, here’s the secret.. you don’t think of it again. (Or at least not for a little bit)!
This frees up the mental load and space in your mind so that you are able to focus on the task ahead, sleep, meditate, etc.
Have you done a brain dump? Did you find it useful?

Do you get overwhelmed by cleaning? Here is a little trick I like to use.
Designate each day to a different area in your house.
For example:
Sunday - Kitchen
Monday - Living Room
Tuesday - Bedroom
Wednesday - Bathroom
And so forth for all your rooms! You can do two in one day if the rooms don’t get used often like guest bedrooms.
Make it work for your schedule. If you tend to do meal prepping over the weekend, I wouldn’t suggest cleaning your kitchen before! Plan your kitchen clean up after you prep.
I enjoy a clean kitchen and clean bedroom sheets on a Sunday night before my week starts!
Any rooms that you just *dread* cleaning? Any favorites??

Did you know some spices can help brain health?? I bet you might have this one in your pantry or spice drawer already.
Turmeric! When I think of turmeric, I think yellow and typically used in curries. It’s way more than that though. It contains a compound called curcumin which has both antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties.
A review from 2010 suggests that turmeric may help starve off Alzheimer’s by removing beta-amyloid (this is a protein fragment). The build up of this has been seen in Alzheimer patients.
Turmeric may also prevent nerve cells from breaking down.
How to use turmeric? The easiest would be in curry powder. I enjoy a turmeric latte from time to time too. It’s simple and I’ll post the recipe!

My two favorite turmeric products are from Young Living. Golden Turmeric and Agilease. Happy to get you the details from them if you are interested in trying them out!

Here is a unique idea for those who get overwhelmed with a long to do list! It is similar to ‘picking a task a day’.
First, you write your to do list. Then, you pick one task and write it on a post it note. This represents your current task. Put the post it note somewhere where you can visually see it while you are working on your task. For example, above your computer.
When you feel those squirrely moments, look at the post it as a gentle reminder of what you should be doing.
When the task is complete, boom! In the trash (or recycling) it goes AND you get to cross that task off your list. It is a double whammy for those who need the paper/pen/tactical-ness of your to-do list.
I’m going to try it this week! Who’s with me?
